《论语》- 君子之道

君子:

When he is rich, he thinks how he can contribute to his country.
When he is poverty-stricken, he reminds himself to maintain his self-cultivation.

君子怀德,小人怀土
君子怀刑,小人怀惠
德= cultivation ; 土= house; 刑= the law; 惠= petty gains

----

Short story shared by Yu Dan:

There are 3 tailorshops lining a street consecutively.
To beat the fierce competition, 1st tailorshop owner hangs a big banner that states: "The best tailor in province."
2nd tailorshop owner then hangs a bigger banner that states: " The best tailor in the country."
The 3rd tailorshop owner knows that he cannot possibly acclaim that he is the best tailor in the world, so he hangs a small banner.
Everyone patronises the 3rd shop, and his banner says: "The best tailor in this street."
