OMG! OMG!

Can you believe that 2008 will be ending in a few hours??

Gosh. 2008 should be one of the most spectacular year of my life thus far...

Sichuan earthquake, subprime crisis, 2008 Beijing Olympics, collapse of Lehman Brothers, stock markets made history, US President-election, death of a beautiful Singapore due terrorism....

Seems all pretty negative.

On the brighter side of the globe, I'm done studying! I found my first job, I went for holidays - Shanghai with the SC babes, Saigon with the k-kindergarten friends and Batam with my beloved monies.

Something interesting happened on the second last day of the year. I went for a Basic Health Scan. So what's the big deal? Urine test, chest x-ray, consultation, three blood tubes, ECG and Stool Examination. So oh-my-goodness. SE was really interesting. Some would choose to poo-poo on toilet paper placed on the floor, some would 'catch' the poo during the process, some would do the normal 'dig' from the toilet. What would you have done? Don't tell me.

Next year will be very different.

The Oxen Year. The clashing of Tai Sui - own zodiac apparently will clash with the same zodiac year. Babes, we're turning ... OLD.

I've made some new year resolutions. I hope to fulfill them all, if not 50%. ( I have a feeling that I will forget what are they when I haven't pen them down yet. So that would mean meeting all 2009 resolutions? There's one about a person. It is difficult to meet - will need all the colleagues' willpower.)

Well... enjoy the last few AIR OF 2008!!!

Another identity card

No weird cyclist dashing out of the sudden,
No weird amber lights flashing anyhow,
No weird traffic lights that confuse my judgement,
I finally passed.

It was a blessing. LMCB and the lucky red packet. Hohoho.

There is always room for improvement....

Vietnam Trip (28Nov-1Dec)

Like what Reina said, Vietnam will come as a "cultural shock" to many, esp. us. The traffic, the crowd, the air, the food, the 'homes' are somewhat similar to Thailand but, it feels totally different at the same time.

Some snaphots of the Ho Chi Minh City:

A family on a scooter is a common sight

Cloth mask/Cartons, crates, pipes etc. are 'accessories' to bikes.

Religion

Notre Dame Church

Cao Dai Temple

They made the trip a great one! Muacks!!

Cindy dearest is always taking care of me. Oh boy, hope this ain't our last holiday tgt. Let's beg and pray....

never take our senses for granted

I lost my voice yesterday.
The feeling was anxiety and irritation. I was fearing every moment that my voice will be gone forever and feeling tired of expressing myself in whispers and gestures.

Still, some people made my day. My mentor went chinatown during in the morning to get black plums from medical hall, sh got me pipagao candy, qw got me pipagao liquid and instructor uncle bought me peel fresh orange juice. Well, the extent of my voice-lost is really bad, even the doc was shocked. He said all previous patients could still be heard a little, and I, could only type a SMS to show him my symptoms.
