Stand Up for Singapore!

"We're from Singapore."
"Singapore? It's part of China, right?"

To cry or to laugh at the ignorance, stupidity even, of these people? Cry out loud! Singapore is never part of China! Situated at the southern part of SEA, Singapore is miles and miles away from China.

Singapore was founded as a British trading colony in 1819. It joined the Malaysian Federation in 1963 but separated two years later and became independent. It subsequently became one of the world's most prosperous countries with strong international trading links (its port is one of the world's busiest) and with per capita GDP equal to that of the leading nations of Western Europe.

Sad to say, Singapore's global ranking has dropped from 8th to 22nd(2005). Nevertheless, this sparrow-like country has greater plans for the future, which presumably allow the country to achieve the current living standards of Switzerland (per capita GDP US$52,879). Known internationally to have owned the Best Port, Best Airport, Best Airline etc., this city deserves to be accurately remembered and recognised. Singapore is a country and its city bears the same name.

She will be 40 on 9 August. In advance, I wish da best for the country and Happy Birthday Singapore.

people who know me must have been pretty shocked about the existence of this blogpage.simply becos,am a lazy bum who hates IT and cant put myself to post regular entries.this entry is my 1st and probably be the last few in this blog.

my family and don always have complaints about my commitments to friends.and true enough, ever since i was a kid,i've always been trying to make my friends happy at the expense of myself.i shall not elaborate on those times.afterall, the purpose of this entry is not about my honorability.

anyhow, this blog is created for the intention of "rebuking" a friend's blog entry, a friend whom i am afraid to say has chosen to "drift away" from the foursome clique.3of us were queered over what she has to say about the reasons of her isolation - her horoscope and her weak 'arguments'.personally,i feel her entry was vague, so vague that i almost couldn't feel that she was talking about us.

reasons for the vagueness: we didn't understand her.for once,i can tell you how much i know about her.when i should keep quiet and give her space, when i should feel happy for her becos she wants someone to share her joys, when i should rush down from my place to find her at suntec when she was devastated.

her blog entry is just so unfair to the 3 of us, especially to me.she chose to erase those moments when we'll meet up at void decks to exchange notes and thoughts and gossips even during jc times.she chose to erase moments of us trying to organise outings (one big event -her birthday celebration at sentosa chalet) that event kept me busy one whole week and her show of appreciation was her absence.her reason being - she's busy on her birthday.she chose to erase moments when i lent her my shoulders to cry on when she's upset.she also chose to erase moments when i am always the one who initiates "hi" when we bumped into each other on streets and in school.and of cos, she'd erased moments of me msging her on msn and hp asking how has she been or when would she be available for the foursome outing.

3of us enjoying our blissful moments when she was down?a pure accusation made.if one hardly asks about the life of a person, never should one assume that the person is living in happiness.she is insignificant to us?another accusation.sometimes i wonder, how significant i am in her life...

more than 15years of friendship,if that is what she has to say about me (her entry),am so disappointed. what is going to happen to the foursome after this entry is posted?i wonder.
